Keep your eyes peeled for swordfish, guys are starting to see them finning. Good counts this morning on barracuda off Huntington Beach. A large grade of bluefin is being reported below San Diego. Their recommending 40lb test line for these bruisers, 20 and 25 pound test isn't cutting it. 06/28

A little wind today but not bad.........sportboats are trying to scramble and get some guys to make trips.......this bluefin showing as close as 60 miles is the sign that they need to get on the schools and stay on them to make a season......Catalina still kicking out a few seabass but not great......Also some big yellows on the squid grounds......local sand bass bite is starting to pick up......maybe the spawners are back! 6/27

Those bluefin are creeping up the line here but are not biting very well.....word is that there is some volume there if they settle in....6/26

The boats were out chasing those bluefin today outside ensenada....lots to look at ....very little to catch.....Catalina is a bit slower but the best shot for a seabass 6/25

The tuna fleet out of San Diego caught the first bluefin of the year within 1.5 day range.....90 miles......local barracuda up and down again but the consistant giant calico bite along the coast has been the talk of the town 6/24

The island seabass bite has slowed with the small tides......coastal barracuda still around but harder to get on the schools and stay on them..unless you are up toward Long Beach...decent bass bite and june gloom...6/23

The barracuda that were showing off Newport and the flats disapeared again......seabass at Catalina still chewing 6/22

Sounds like the barracuda are back up off the flats again.......the seabass at Catalina are on the chew and some huge yellows mixed in......get out there...6/21

Similar report today......the barracuda are showing up in schools from Huntington to below La Jolla just got to get out and look......seabass and yellows biting on the backside of Cat down East......get out and fish 6/20
